About us

 

Legal Aid NSW helps people with their legal problems. We can help people with most areas criminal law, family law and every day civil law legal issues. We give legal advice, help at court and do family dispute resolution. We can do this over the telephone or at one of our 28 offices.

 

About the role

 

In this role, you will provide secretariat support to Family Law Division, Executive section with a focus on new projects including coordination of training activities, providing administrative assistance with Commonwealth reporting and the supervision of the Legal Client and Support Officer roles in the Family Executive Admin Team.

This role is available at 35 hours per week on an ongoing basis. You will be based at the Central Sydney (Haymarket) office and flexible work arrangements are negotiable subject to operational requirements.

 

About you

 

You are an organised, proactive professional with extensive experience in managing busy and high-demand environments, balancing multiple priorities, and meeting tight deadlines. You’re comfortable supporting an executive team, especially through tasks like booking meetings, preparing minutes, and assisting with complaint resolution in collaboration with key stakeholders.

 

In this role, you’ll provide direct support to the Deputy Director and the Family Law Executive team. You’ll also lead and manage a team of four Legal and Client Support Officers, overseeing their work, managing leave requests, and supporting their career and professional development goals. Your dedication to client-centered service and commitment to high standards makes you a strong fit for this role, along with your ability to nurture team growth and ensure effective service delivery.

 

We may use this recruitment to create a talent pool for similar ongoing or temporary vacancies we have over the next 18 months.
